Peggy Troy, Chief Operating Officer of Methodist Le Bonheur Healthcare (MLH) since February 2006, has accepted the Chief Executive Officer position of the Children’s Hospital and Health System of Wisconsin (CHW) in Milwaukee. Her last day will be December 12. Prior to serving as COO for the MLH system, Troy was CEO of Le Bonheur Children’s Medical Center for three years.
The move returns Troy to her roots. Children’s Hospital and Health System of Wisconsin is the hospital where she worked as a nurse’s aid, completed her clinical rotations and was employed in her first staff nurse position. CHW, founded in 1894, is recognized as one of the leading pediatric health care centers in the United States, serving children throughout Wisconsin, Michigan's Upper Peninsula, and Northern Illinois.
“Peggy has demonstrated that she is a gifted and passionate leader who structures every decision around what is best for our patients and their families,” said Gary S. Shorb, president and CEO of Methodist Le Bonheur Healthcare. “She will be greatly missed.”
“Leaving this wonderful organization and its mission of service was not an easy decision for me. I have great respect for Methodist Le Bonheur Healthcare and a deep affection for the patients we serve and this community,” said Troy. “But, ultimately, this new position, while being a tremendous opportunity in and of itself, will bring me closer to my family. That really sealed the decision for me.”
Shorb said interim leadership plans are being made.
