Sandra Bailey, administrator of Methodist Extended Care Hospital (MECH), has been named vice president of Senior Care for Methodist Le Bonheur Healthcare. She will continue to serve as administrator of MECH and the Skilled Nursing Facility on 9 Thomas at Methodist University Hospital.
In this additional role, Bailey is responsible for the development and implementation of a system-wide strategy for Senior patient and family care. She will work with facility CEOs to ensure a consistent care-delivery model for seniors to include acute, post acute, home and community-based care. Bailey will also function as Methodist’s corporate liaison with local, state and national representatives in the field of aging.

Bailey initially served Methodist Healthcare as the administrator of Methodist Healthcare - Brownsville Hospital from 1996-2001. She rejoined Methodist Healthcare in Memphis in 2002 as the administrator of the Methodist Healthcare-managed UT Bowld Hospital after a one-year tenure as chief operating officer at Emergency Coverage Corporation, headquartered in Knoxville. Prior to 1996, she served in various health care leadership roles in both east and west Tennessee hospital systems.
Bailey holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Audiology from the University of Tennessee and a Master of Science Degree in health systems engineering from the Georgia Institute of Technology.
She is a member of the American College of Healthcare Executives and a former national board member of the Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society.
