Kathy Bomar, RN, BSN, ONC, CNRN, Methodist University Hospital, recently received the Clinical Educator of the Year Award from the American Association of Neuroscience Nurses.

Bomar is responsible for developing unit-based education for current and new employees and has created a specialty fellowship orientation for neuroscience practitioners. She developed an orientation program for neuroscience nurses, created an all day quarterly Advanced Neuroscience Day and was responsible for putting together a seminar about the Multidisciplinary Care of the Stroke Patient. Bomar has also mentored 16 nurses to obtain their certified neuroscience registered nurse (CNRN) certification.
