Since breaking ground just over one year ago, the Women’s Pavilion at Methodist Le Bonheur Germantown Hospital is right on schedule. Some of the latest construction involves completion of the roof, installing windows, bricking the exterior, and installing plumbing, electrical work, and medical gas. The tunnel that connects the pavilion and hospital has also been completed.
“We are very excited to be able to bring the latest medical initiatives and best practices to our community,” said William Kenley, CEO and administrator, Methodist Le Bonheur Germantown Hospital. “One of the benefits our patients will have access to is our specially designed neonatal intensive care unit (NICU) that will provide 24 private rooms where parents can stay with their newborn throughout their baby’s hospital stay.”
Patients are already enjoying the more than 600 parking spaces the $121 million construction project has provided. The project will also add 100 new beds in the pavilion to help care for the hospital’s high patient volume. Completion date is set for January 1, 2010 and hospital officials hope to open the new pavilion to patients in February.
