James D. Eason, M.D., FACS

Program Director

Dr. Eason joined the Methodist University Hospital Transplant Institute as Program Director in 2006. In addition to serving as Program Director, Dr. Eason is also a member of UT Medical Group, Inc. and is on the faculty at the University of Tennessee Health Science Center Department of Medicine. In 2009 Dr. Eason was selected by The Commercial Appeal as one of "10 people over the decade whose contributions impacted Memphis."

Dr. Eason is known not only for his distinguished career in transplant surgery, but also for his extensive research in liver transplantation.

Nosratollah Nezakatgoo, M.D.

Dr. Nosratollah Nezakatgoo joined The UT Bowld/Methodist University Transplant Institute in 2000 as a transplant fellow in liver, kidney, and pancreas transplantation. He was awarded a Letter of Appreciation in 1998 from the Minister of Health and Medical Education for Advancement in the History of the Iranian Medical Society for the first successful living donor liver transplant.

Jason Vanatta, M.D.

Transplant Surgeon

Dr. Jason Vanatta serves as an Assistant Professor of Surgery at The University of Tennessee Health Science Center. He performed his multi-organ abdominal transplantation surgery fellowship at Stanford University. He is also a member of the American College of Surgeons.

Luis Campos, M.D.

Transplant Surgeon

Dr. Luis Campos is board-certified in general surgery and serves as an Associate Professor of Transplant Surgery at The University of Tennessee Health Science Center. Dr. Campos performed his surgery residency and multi-organ fellowship at the University of Pennsylvania Hospital in Philadelphia..

Kian Modanlou, M.D.

Transplant Surgeon

Dr. Kian Modanlou completed his fellowship of transplantation surgery at Northwestern University after finishing his residency at The University of Colorado Health Sciences Center. Dr. Modanlou is board certified and is a member of the United Network of Organ Sharing, Regional Review Board. He joins us as Assistant Professor of Transplant Surgery at The University of Tennessee Health Science Center. .
