Even though your employment at Methodist Le Bonheur Healthcare doesn't officially start until System Orientation, there are some things you need to do before your first day of work. The resources in this section will help you prepare.

What do I need to do before attending orientation?

You need to complete the required Pre-On Boarding reading and assessment which can be found in this section. These requirements help Methodist comply with accreditation requirements.

What do I need to bring?

Please bring the following items with you to your pre-employment physical:

  • Appropriate identification for the I-9 form (which you will fill out when you arrive). Requirements are on the final page of the form. (Note: please bring 2 forms of identification if you are selecting from lists B and C)

What should I wear to orientation?

Dress is business casual for the first day. That includes khakis, slacks, and shirt with a collar. No sneakers, flip flops sweats or jeans. You may want to bring a sweater or jacket in case of temperature change inside the auditorium.

Your department will advise you on its dress code standard (uniforms, etc.) once you report for your first day at your unit or office.

What time do I need to be at orientation?

  • Orientation starts at 8:00 a.m. and ends at 12:00 p.m. 
  • A continental breakfast is provided.
  • All patient care Associates will return to the Medical Staff Auditorium at 12:45 p.m.
    for Interdisciplinary Orientation which ends at 5:00 p.m.
  • All other Associates will report to work by 1:00 p.m.

Where do I go for orientation?

System and Interdisciplinary Orientation are held Methodist University Hospital, 1265 Union Avenue. Please report to the Medical Staff Auditorium, 1st floor for registration at 8:00 a.m.

Driving Directions and Where can I park?

You may park in the Associate Parking lot located one block west of University Hospital.

What should I expect at orientation?

You will participate in discussion and activities designed to give you an understanding of the mission, vision and values of Methodist Le Bonheur Healthcare as well as give you an understanding of core competencies in a Patient and Family Centered Care environment.

You will also have an opportunity to network with your fellow new hires and gain valuable information about some of MLH’s key initiatives.
