Methodist Le Bonheur Healthcare has also partnered with the University of Memphis. Recognizing the dynamic growth of that institution, Methodist Le Bonheur has become engaged through progressive programs like the Maurice Elliott Leadership Institute, the Center for Health Care Economics and the Center for Health Care Technology.

Maurice Elliott Leadership Institute

The Maurice Elliott Leadership Institute (MELI) is a management and training education program developed for Methodist managers and directors in honor of CEO Emeritus, Maurice Elliott. MELI was helps develop communication, interpersonal and leadership skills.

Center for Health Care Economics

The Methodist Le Bonheur Center for Healthcare Economics was established in 2003. The Center studies regional and state healthcare economic trends, as well as performs market analysis. The staff and faculty associates of the Center serve the Mid-South community by providing healthcare education through public speaking and other initiatives.

Center for Health Care Technology

As part of the continual quest for excellence, the Methodist Healthcare Foundation's Urban Child Institute gave $750,000 to the University of Memphis for the establishment of the Center for Healthcare Technology. The Center for Healthcare and Technology reviews healthcare performance by exploring technology, processes, physical environments, organizational culture and human resources. It identifies opportunities for improvement, provides the latest research on best practices, develops computer models and tools to improve healthcare outcomes.
