Partners in Care

Published On 06/28/2013

You can choose two family members and/or friends to be listed in your medical record as partners in care. These are the people who will be present and involved in your care during your hospital stay. You can change the names of partners in care at any time.

Partners in care have your permission to:

  • Be present during medical discussions with your healthcare team.
  • Provide information about you to hospital staff.
  • Receive information about your condition from hospital staff.
  • Be there when you are having tests, surgery, therapy, or just want support.

You may also ask partners in care to share updates on your condition with other family and friends.
