“We’re really glad Jack came to tour our hospice residence,” said Sally Aldrich, administrator for Methodist Hospice and Home Care, “A number of our patients at the Residence come to us in the late stages of Alzheimer’s.”

Fussell lost his father to this Alzheimer’s in 2000, and now he wants to do something to give back. His goal is to raise $250,000 for the Alzheimer’s Association and raise awareness about this disease.

He runs about 20 miles a day with his jogging stroller named Wilson. You can follow Fussell’s journey across the country and donate to his cause by visiting his website acrosstheland2013.com.
