Hepatobiliary Program

Methodist University Hospital is proud to offer a comprehensive hepatobiliary program, which provides care for patients with cancers of the liver, pancreas, bile ducts or GI tract. A key aspect of our program is the multidisciplinary collaboration among the following specialists:

  • Gastroenterologists
  • Pathologists
  • Radiologists
  • Surgical oncologists
  • Transplant surgeons

This team of experts meets bimonthly in Tumor Conference to review and discuss cases, resulting in a customized treatment plan for the patient. Treatment options vary, depending on the type and stage of cancer. Treatment may include:

  • Surgery
  • Radiation therapy
  • Microwave ablation
  • Chemoembolization
  • Radiofrequency ablation
