Methodist Le Bonheur Germantown Hospital Remembers Project Manager Through Healing Garden
Methodist Le Bonheur Germantown Hospital is dedicating its healing garden in memory of Donna Hess, RN, Project Manager, Planning and Construction. The garden, which was designed to provide a therapeutic and restorative environment for Associates, patients and family, can also be supported through gifts to reflect and honor loved ones.
Hess, a 20-year Associate at Methodist Germantown, was renowned for her compassion towards patients, families and her co-workers. As a clinical director in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, she saw how a nurturing hospital environment could bring comfort to patients and families during their stay. Later in her career her dreams came to fruition when she used her engineering background to attain the position of Project Manager, Planning and Construction. Her nursing experience gave her an inside understanding of what worked best for hospital staff and was instrumental in her new role of helping to plan, then overseeing the construction of the Women’s and Children’s Pavilion, which was designed to provide the ultimate patient-and family-centered care.
There are several opportunities to provide gifts to the garden including: large meditation bench, $1,500; small meditation bench, $1,000; personalized brick, $100; flower fund (perennials), $50; and flower fund (annuals), $25.
Gifts can be made to Methodist Healthcare Foundation, P. O. Box 42048, Memphis, TN 38174 or by contacting Mark Billingsley at 901-516-0509. You may also give online by designating "Germantown Healing Garden" on the online donation form.
